The 2016 Formula One Australian Grand Prix will be held on Sunday, March 20, as part of a four-day event at Albert Park that will also see four V8 Supercars races occur. The Grand Prix itself is scheduled to take place as the finale to the event, beginning at 4pm on Sunday and expected to conclude around 6pm. The races on Friday, Saturday and Sunday will all be broadcast live both on free-to-air TV via Network Ten, and via Foxtel on Fox Sports 5 (channel 506).
Fox Sports 5 will broadcast all four V8 Supercars races, all Formula One practice and qualifying sessions, and the Grand Prix itself.
Network Ten will run day-long coverage of Friday Saturday and Sunday from a variety of channels, to the following schedule:
Friday: 11:30am – 7:30pm on channel ONE.Saturday: 10am – 6:30pm on channels Ten, Ten HD, and ONE.
Sunday: 10am – 6pm on channels Ten and Ten HD.
This event marks both the 20th time that the V8 Supercars have appeared at Albert Park, and the 80th race in the history of the Australian Grand Prix.
All four V8 Supercars races will be 12 laps of Albert Park’s 5.303km circuit. The Australian Grand Prix will be conducted over 58 laps for a distance of roughly 307km covered.
